Prayer Suggestions for Baxter County
Education - Our schools have been disrupted because of Covid 19 issues and the students have suffered with less educational training and missed social opportunities.
Pray for these education issues:
Quality educational training for our students to help recover from the lost classroom training.
Opportunities for positive social development of the students.
Wisdom for teachers and counselors in dealing with students
School boards to deal wisely with issues about curriculum, class size, funding, and testing
Protect students from the temptations such as drugs, alcohol and pornography
For families and churches to provide sound moral teaching for children
Superintendents, Principles, Teachers, Teacher Aides and Support Staff in educating our children.
Baxter Regional Medical Center - Our health care system has been stressed resulting from the Covid 19 infection and the ongoing healthcare needs.
Pray for these issues:
Fatigue among medical staff and volunteers and a sense of being under appreciated
Scarcity of staff resources needed to treat patients - difficulty in recruiting additional medical staff
A need for staff to reconnect with the reason they became health care workers
Wisdom for the hospital management to address financial, recruiting and operational issues
Law Enforcement - Recently a lot of national criticism has been directed towards law enforcement.
Pray for our local law enforcement personnel:
Give them Godly wisdom in carrying out their duties
Provide protection around them while keeping our community safe
Show them creative ways to confront family violence, prevent suicides, and reduce drug and alcohol addiction
Support for law enforcement families that feel the emotional stress of the job
Continued support of the public and other elected officials
Our Elected Leaders - The local government officials have a direct effect on our community and our lives. Pray that our voters will elect and support godly men and women to these offices.
Pray for Mayor Hillrey Adams and County Judge Kevin Litty as they lead our local governments
Pray for courage and wisdom for the city council, the county court, and the school board to make just and wise decisions
Christian Ministries - Many of our local ministries have experienced reduced budgets and fewer volunteers. Pray for:
Adequate financial resources for effective provision of services
Adequate human resources, both volunteers and paid staff, to fulfill the mission
Focus of vision for each ministry
Spirit of cooperation among ministries and local churches
Depression and Suicides - Arkansas has a higher rate of suicides per 100,000 people than average national rate. Baxter County is one of the leading counties in suicides commited in the state. Most suicides occur in males and the rates have been increasing each year. About 15 people will likely die from suicide in Baxter County this year. Pray for these potential suicide victims that they can find hope from knowing Jesus.
